Injury Shatters Fighters' Dreams

TOOWOOMBA fighters Dann Luka and Shaun Collins' dreams of being crowned Queensland champions in front of their home crowd on Saturday night turned into nightmares when both fighters were forced to withdraw through injury.

More than 1000 people turned out at the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre for Muay Thai Action VI hoping to see Luka and Collins become the Garden City's latest champions.

Collins wasn't even able to step into the ring for the biggest fight of his career after he dislocated his left shoulder in the warm-up for his Queensland super cruiserweight title fight.

Collins now faces a long stint on the sidelines after re-injuring his troublesome left shoulder.

Collins' trainer Phil Renata said the fighter was ashattereda to be injured again after almost two years on the sidelines.

"He was gutted. He's only just coming back from a major shoulder reconstruction, I think this will make him second guess himself. …
