Fresh Start for Young Workers

GLENN Caldwell, Richard Joslin and Shale Huth are young people looking for a fresh start.

The trio are part of a new partnership between PVS Workfind Ipswich and Busy Employment Solutions to place 12 jobseekers in apprenticeships or traineeships over the next 12 weeks.

Dubbed 12 In 12, the program is designed for local employers in the hospitality, construction, IT and mechanical industries.

PVS branch manager Darren Joslin said the Job Services Australia provider had been working with Busy since March.

He said PVS had helped hundreds of people find work in the past few months.

"It's very much a success from our side, we've had a huge quarter," Mr Joslin said of the partnership.

"The early feedback about 12 In 12 has been really good. To have people wanting to participate and wanting to find their dream job is certainly a step in the right direction.

"Our initial target is one position a week for 12 weeks, but if we continue to have success and find willing candidates we will run the program for as long as we can. …
