HOUSE fire victim Jason Holohan managed to salvage a box of his children's baby photos when he went through burnt remains for the first time yesterday.

The wheelchair-bound dad, who sleeps in a caravan at the front of the Gordon Street property, entered the family home to get all eight kids, his wife and dogs out after a fire started there in the early hours of Monday morning.

The last child to escape the fire, Phillippa, 11, who was taken to hospital after suffering smoke burns to her throat, was doing well yesterday after being discharged on Monday afternoon.

"The kids had trouble sleeping last night. It's been traumatic for them," Jason said. …
