Quality Horses at Rodeo Sale; A Total of 50 Ridden Horses on Offer This Friday

A "QUIET as anything" pony with the unlikely name of Bushman is expected to be one of the key attractions at this Friday's McDougall and Sons annual rodeo sale.

The 10-year-old chestnut gelding is being offered for sale by Malcolm Duff and family from the Sandy Camp area, west of Clifton.

The Duff family have had Bushman for eight years. The 10-year-old pony was bred by Vida Simpson from Warwick and has been used for stockwork and pony club by his primary rider Will Duff, who has now outgrown him.

"I had a job on a property about five kilometres up the road, so I used to ride Bushman there after school," he explained.

But growing older inevitably means growing up and the trusty pony is no longer needed by the family.

He is one of just a select few children's ponies on offer among the 50 ridden horses listed in this year's sale at Warwick saleyards.

McDougall's agent David McIvor said Bushman, along with a purebred Quarterhorse mare called Dalman Gettin' Connected (Lot 9)from a reputed Woodenbong stud, were two of the feature equines in the catalogue. …
