Awards Night Will Reward Hard Work

IN March this year an idea was born to bring reward and recognition to the businesses of Bundaberg.

And now eight months later the best in their field will be awarded for their fantastic achievements in business excellence.

The idea was the brainchild of NewsMail's media advertising manager Bruce Partridge.

"As an advertising manager in the newspaper industry I see firsthand the work, planning, and level of commitment that local businesses invest each day," Bruce said.

"Many business owners literally alivea in and for their business."

After further discussion with NewsMail's general manager Wayne Tomkins the two approached the Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce to implement a successful awards night.

The chamber was delighted to help out and also believed businesses deserved to be recognised for their commitment to local service.

Chamber president Dion Taylor, chamber members Tracey Smith and Tara Williamson, as well as chamber secretary Stacy Zubanski and treasurer Cheryl Graffunder all played a significant role in bringing the awards to fruition. …
