New Xbox Gadget Lets You Play Just by Moving About

A NEW gadget which lets you play games simply by moving around in front of your TV is tipped to become a "must have" Christmas present.

It goes on sale on November 10 but Microsoft's Kinect [pounds sterling]129 gadget has already sold out on some shops' preorder allocations.

The device, which works with an existing Xbox console, sits under the television.

It uses cameras, sensors and microphones to track player's movements in minuscule detail.

Stephen McGill of Xbox said: "This is all about changing gaming and entertainment. It really is a new way of playing."

Today, a huge advertising campaign kicked off as Selfridges unveiled its Christmas windows, one of which features the system.

It will launch with 19 games costing about [pounds sterling]40 each, including Dance Cen-tral, where players dance to songs supplied by artists such as Lady Gaga. In the game Your Shape: Fitness Evolved the camera will scan players to assess their fitness and then monitor them as they complete workouts. …
