Demise of Open Men's a First for Lismore

THE second round of Lismore Touch was played on Monday night Co luckily Hepburn Park was one of the few Lismore City Council grounds open.

There are more mixed team nominations this season but the downside is that there were not enough open men's team nominations for a viable ompetition.

It is the first time since Lismore Touch started in 1973 that there will not be an open men's division.

The men's masters division remains strong with seven teams nominated.

On Monday defending premiers CFCB Irwins defeated Workers Blue 5-3, while Bolt Barn and Untouchables drew 4-all.

Moons Maulers, back with a full complement after struggling last season, pipped NRMA by one to get back in the winners' circle. Workers Red had the bye.

In mixed games, Mick Sawtell Magic were too strong for a depleted Lats Rat Pack; Rous Hotel had a good win over Blue Hills College 2; NDC were too experienced for new team Ready To Rock; and The Gumps beat Konia by two touchdowns. …
