JUNIOR tennis is under way and in stark contrast to the last two terms, we are beyond week three and so far, no rain.

Division 1 had two players away, so a round robin singles was played.

Adam Simmons was the only undefeated player and has improved greatly recently in both his ability to stay in a rally and the way he structures points.

He had wins over Jake Howe and Conlan Brehaut 6/4 and the score shows both matches were hotly contested.

Conlan made that result look even better when he defeated Jason Robson 6/5 in his next set.

This was a titanic set with neither player prepared to give an inch but Conlan prevailed 8/6 in the tiebreaker.

In Division 2, Kelsi Govan and Gracie Hemer had the best match.

The first two sets were long ones with both girls keeping the ball in play well.

After the first two sets were split 6/4 each way, the long rallies started to have an effect on Gracie and she tired a little in the third for Kelsi to win 6/2. …
