Love of Boonah Inspires Artist's Work

SCENIC RIM: Boonah-based artist, Robert Davis, first fell in love with the Scenic Rim in the late 1990s, when his father drove him into the small country town in search of a home.

Mr Davis, who has trained and worked as an actor and commercial artist in Sydney and the UK, wanted to live close to his ageing father but far enough away to have some space.

"I couldn't drive then so dad had to drive me around. I saw a house in Boonah on Greenhills Road and thought, CyThis is it, how could I do any better'."

Mr Davis bought his house for a bargain price and realised that the time had come to learn to drive.

He was 62 when he successfully sat for his first driver's licence and now aged 73 is still full of life and always on the lookout for new creative projects.

His latest project has been four months of hard work and dedication. …
