SOUTH Grafton Public School has given itself a shot at PSSA State Knockout girls' cricket glory a but can someone let the coach know?

"We came off after 12 overs for drinks and I thought we needed about 10 runs but the girls were already jumping up and down saying a[approximately]we've won'," coach Mark Newman laughed.

The girls had every right to be happy following their comprehensive quarter-final triumph against Tamworth Primary School at McKittrick Park yesterday.

Early on South Grafton's watertight bowling restricted the visitors to 9-71 from their 25 overs.

Kaitlyn Barclay (2-7), Shinnae McDonald (2-10) and Brooke Young (2-15) were the chief destroyers in a consistent spell from the entire line-up that kept Tamworth under check.

Megan Vatali (1-11), Madison Bultilude (1-11) and Natasha Rudder (1-6) also chipped in but Newman was most pleased with the support his bowlers received. …
