THE legendary North Bank stand at Highbury Stadium was once the home of the most passionate Arsenal supporters, drawn from the working classes of north London.

Now it could become every Gooner's dream home for good -- at least for those who can afford more than [pounds sterling]1 million for a penthouse in the development of flats being built on the site. Estate agents Knight Frank have put up for sale a number of apartments in the North Bank development, including three penthouses with a price tag roughly equivalent to Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas's annual salary.

Dozens of flats in the Highbury Square development, which began after the team moved to their new home in the Emirates Stadium, have already been sold -- some to players and former stars such as Robert Pires.

But for many Gooners, the North Bank remains an evocative symbol of the old Highbury where renowned Arsenal player Charlie George watched the team as a boy before eventually graduating onto the pitch. …
