Scientist 'Stored Bomb Chemicals for 7/7 Revenge'

A RESEARCH chemist stockpiled the ingredients for home-made explosives to prepare a "revenge attack" after the July 7 bombings, a court heard today.

Richard Lodemore, 48, stored hydrogen peroxide, sulphuric acid, potassium nitrate, sulphur and citric acid in his home and shed in Chadwell Heath, essex, the jury heard.

Police also found 2,000 pages of material on explosives and lists of c household products that can be mixed to create bombs. One piece he had printed out was titled How to Make an Atomic Bomb in Your Own Home, another The Anarchists' Guide to Civilian Warfare.

Lodemore got the information from the internet shortly after the 2005 terrorist attacks, snaresbrook crown court was told.

Brian Reece, prosecuting, said: "He has equipped himself with the knowledge or at least the means to acquire the knowledge necessary to enable him to assemble any number of explosive combinations of substances. …
