New Patients Welcomed; Excelsior Medical Vows to Hire More Doctors as the Need Arises

PLANS for the new Excelsior Medical Centre were worked on by architects GHD with invaluable input from Practice Manager Barbara Daniell and Dr Byrnes' wife Shelly Byrnes.

"We just wanted to achieve space," Ms Daniell said of the new building.

The new medical centre incorporates nine consulting rooms and a new treatment area with two minor operating rooms, two extra consulting rooms and a vaccination room, with reception and comfortable waiting area at the front.

Patients can now take advantage of 27 car parks; the practice only had on-street parking previously.

Ms Daniell said the practice as a whole decided their clients needed off-street parking and with the numbers of patients increasing more consulting rooms to accommodate new doctors were also needed.

"We're the only practice in Gympie that never closed their books," she said.

"We'll keep putting more doctors on to help more patients.

"There's a real need in Gympie."

In January Excelsior Medical Centre, which has five doctors will hire a new doctor and replace one that was aon loana from another Gympie practice. …
