Double Puts Icing on Ink

HE spends a lot of his time on the road, but for Port Macquarie jockey Allan Chau it was business as usual when he rode London Ink ($4) to victory in the inaugural Trinity Jubilee Cup Class 2 Handicap (1516m) at the Lismore races on Saturday.

Chau came home strongly in the final 300m to pip equal favourite Sittinbul ($4) by half a neck, with another long neck back to Now The Time ($5).

It was the second time Chau had ridden London Ink and he was thrilled with the result.

"She was a bit tardy out of the gate but I did expect that," Chau said.

"We got held up a fraction at the 600m mark. As soon as I got a clear run I knew she had a great turn of foot and we ended up just sneaking home."

Chau had confidence in the four-year-old mare, having ridden it three starts ago at Grafton. …
