The ever-bubbly 20-year-old Grafton girl missed out on winning the series by one vote and the $50,000 that comes with the title.

However that didn't bother her. Ellynie-May insists she was never in it for the money.

"I told myself from the beginning that making the top three would be a bonus and I got there. I am proud of what I did in the show and learnt so much," she said.

Ellynie-May said she was happy with how she was presented on the small screen.

"I'm not embarrassed at all because that's just me. What people saw is what I am like. It was weird for people to come up to me though and say that I am the a[approximately]smart one'. That has never been said to me before in my life," she said.

The winner of the series, Jessie, along with Ellynie-May's geek, Marlon, are now two of her best friends and she hopes to get a few of the contestants to the Clarence Valley for her 21st birthday celebrations in May. …
