Gladstone's Iconic O'Connell Wharf Is Open for Business

GLADSTONE'S O'Connell Wharf is open for business following an expenditure of more than $2.4 million.

Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) chairman Ian Brusasco said the historic wharf would be open to the public from this weekend.

O'Connell Wharf was closed late last year so work could begin on its refurbishment.

Mr Brusasco said a section of the existing wharf and adjacent structure was refurbished to provide a T head shaped wharf incorporating a ramp to the downstream end of the wharf on to a floating pontoon.
