WITH the Christmas season in full swing, it was the Tommy Webster memorial hall being decked with holly on Saturday night Co for the annual Walkerston Rotary Christmas Carols.

Around 200 keen carollers sang along to their favourite festive tunes as families from around the area came together to share the Christmas spirit.

Bente McDonald, who has been organising the carols since their inception nine years ago, said it was an absolutely lovely night and the rain didn't hold anyone back.

"It was quite a nice night indeed," she said.

"We held the event indoors this year because it has been so wet lately and everyone who turned up really enjoyed themselves".

Along with the mums, dads, grandparents and children, there were a few special guests who impressed the crowd with their talents.

"I think we had the highest calibre performers we have ever had this year," Ms McDonald said. …
