WHETHER rain or shine there are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained these school holidays.

Ipswich children will have plenty of opportunities to get creative and ward off boredom with the following activities:

Redbank Plaza

A range of festively-themed activities are on offer at Redbank Plaza.

Throughout this week from 10am to 2pm daily, kids can visit the Little Green Thumbs activity centre to plant their very own mini-Christmas tree to take home.

The free activity is located outside Target, on level two.

The centre will also host Christmas cupcake workshops from Monday, December 20, to Thursday, December 23, at 11am, noon, 1pm and 2pm daily.

Kids can take part in a workshop where they can decorate their very own Christmas inspired cupcake.

Bookings are essential and can be made by contacting 3288 5511.

The workshop is recommended for children over the age of three.

Art Gallery

Those looking for arty pursuits can head to the Ipswich Art Gallery.

Crafted by Evelyn Roth Festival Arts, Tailspin is a large-scale crocheted net suspended from the ceiling to create a safe, stimulating and enjoyable learning environment for kids.

The interactive is accompanied by a range of art-making activities for kids of all ages and their parents/ carers.

Queens Park

Ipswich school children will have an extended program of Kids Go Wild through the summer holidays compliments of Ipswich City Council.

Environment and Conservation Committee chairwoman, Councillor Cheryl Bromage, said this summer's theme would be Catchment Car to coincide with the Year of Environmental Sustainability in Queensland Schools.

Cr Bromage said the Kids Go Wild program started at the Queens Park Environmental Education Centre yesterday with the Bazil Grumble Christmas Eco Workshop. …
