AROUND 30 small businesses were given the opportunity to display their wares at a Tyneside business park's first annual Christmas market, which saw hundreds of tenants taking the opportunity to buy their presents.

A variety of craft and food stalls exhibited at Quorum Business Park, marking the first Christmas at the park for staff from a raft of new occupiers including Tesco Bank, Balfour Beatty WorkSmart and insurethebox.

Almost 300 people attended the market to buy produce from a range of local suppliers, including wine merchants, pickle and jam specialists, eyelash extension trials and personal shopping experiences.

The children from the on-site Kids First Nursery also made reindeer dust to sell at the event in aid of their chosen charity The Children's Foundation.

Quorum is spreading further festive cheer through its 12 days of Christmas prize draw, giving away a prize a day to members of the Q Card - the staff benefits scheme.

Quorum Business Park events manager Julie Moorhouse said: "The Christmas market has been a great success this year, not only did we have the stalls being snapped up quickly by businesses but the response from the park exceeded our expectations. …
