WHAT a wonderful night the Yeppoon Lioness Club members had entertaining the hostel and high-care residents at Capricorn Adventist Retirement Village carolling and reciting poetry, followed by dancing enjoyed by all.

This is an annual event by the club and the members get as much fun out of the night as the residents.

Parkinsons break-up lunch

PARKINSONS Support Group invites all members and carers to a Christmas break-up luncheon on December 16 at noon at the Pacific Hotel. This is the last meeting of the year. LUTHERAN Ladies Fellowship Christmas Street Stall is on Friday, December 17 from 6am to 1pm outside Woody's Supermarket.

Christmas markets

AS Christmas falls on Saturday this year, the Yeppoon Community Christmas Market will be held on Thursday, December 23 at the showgrounds, 6-9am.

Fire-dancing at the beach

BEACHSIDE Drumming and Fire-dancing is on December 24 from 7pm at Yeppoon Main beach.

BYO drum, percussion instruments, fire sticks, rug or chair.

Spectators welcome for this family-friendly activity.

Gift shop at gallery

THE Reid Gallery and Gift Shop is on again - from now until Christmas Eve in Gallery 6 at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre, corner Derby and East streets, Rockhampton.

Support local artists and craftspeople while doing the Christmas shopping and choose from unique hand-felted shawls and hand-woven scarves, ready to hang traditional artworks, stunning contemporary paintings and cards, hand sewn items, photographs, jewellery and loads of practical pottery.

Christmas raffle

REBECCA Brunsmann is holding a Christmas raffle on behalf of the Variety Queensland Co Children's Charity.

The Christmas hamper includes a decorated Christmas tree and all presents as well.

Local businesses that have kindly donated to this charity: Allsop Photography, Aspirations Beauty Spa, Cydelle Jensen Hairdressers, Capricorn Coast Bait & Tackle, Eagle Boys Pizza, Maggy's Cafe Bistro and Sweetcheek Crafts.

Total prize package valued at over $550.

Tickets are on sale from Pat O'Driscoll Real Estate Yeppoon for $2 a ticket or $10 for six.
