A PLANNED world record attempt while fundraising for kids with cancer could be cancelled before it gets going.

Kingscliff-based DJ Joshua Cook, also known as Deejay Offa, said he hoped to beat the longest DJ set of 120 hours in Brisbane in February but had only one sponsor so far.

aThe Riverstage event is in grave danger of not running if I can't get sponsors,a Mr Cook said.

aThere are not enough people on board getting involved with raising the money at the moment.

aI'm really struggling to find anyone willing to help, and it is the sponsors that will make it happen.a

The only sponsor who has joined the cause so far is Leading Edge Telecoms in Kingscliff and owner Leanne Cook said they agreed to sponsor the event as soon as they were asked.

aIt's for a good purpose, with the money going to a very needy organisation and it would be a big shame to see it not go ahead,a Ms Cook said. …
