THERE was a lot of snow on the roof last week and as it was starting to melt and slipping further off the roof, it was putting a strain on the gutters.

I live in between two council properties and my gutter was perfectly fine but the gutters either side were coming away and I was concerned that it would pull my gutter down as well.

I rang Erimus Housing to report this three times over a period of a week. Firstly, I was told that if it brings my gutter down Erimus would be responsible to put it right, but then I was told that's not the case and that I would have to do it through my own insurance and pay the excess. My premiums would go up even though the problem was either side of my house - what a cheek.

Surely this is unfair. I know as a house owner I have responsibilities but shame on Erimus Housing for reacting this way. …
