THE HOUSE THAT MADE ME 9PM, CH4 This series must be a props person's dream -- or nightmare, depending on how difficult it proved to source the 14-year-old karaoke machine on which this week's time traveller, the singer Jamelia, pictured, recorded the demo track that secured her first record deal. In the Birmingham council house where she and her half brothers grew up, the singer shares memories with her mother, Paulette, and confronts the sadness of growing up with a largely absent father.

BEING RONNIE CORBETT 9PM, BBC2 Ronnie Corbett was 80 this month, and there's a well deserved evening of veneration for him tonight, beginning at 8pm with a re-run of The Two Ronnies Christmas Special from 1984 with special guest Elaine Paige, which should provide a wonderful opportunity to marvel at the quaint fashions and strange innocence of life a quarter of a century ago.
