TITUS BRAMBLE is backing Sunderland's front men to end their goal drought.

Strikers Darren Bent and Asamoah Gyan have scored a dozen league goals between them but are both enduring their longest barren runs since joining the Wearsiders - five games for Bent and six for Gy a n. And both players wasted a series of chances against Blackpool yesterday.

But, with another home game coming up on Saturday against Blackburn, Bramble is confident the pair will soon be back on song.

"They've been fantastic all season and, on another day, they'd each have scored two or three goals," said centre-back Bramble, who made his return from knee surgery against the Tangerines. "It's nothing to do with confidence. I'm sure against Blackburn they'll come out firing again. They're great, world-class strikers.

"If we keep creating chances, I'm fully confident that they'll start putting them away." Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is also sure the tide will turn for his pounds 30m strike force. …
