IT'S the Coffs Coast's night of nights as revellers prepare to party hard and usher in 2011.

The Jetty Foreshores will be the focus of the celebrations with a massive fireworks display at 9.30pm while pubs and clubs in the Coffs Harbour CBD will be filled to overflowing.

There will also be a big surge in police numbers to clamp down on alcohol-fuelled anti-social behaviour and lock up the louts responsible.

"We want people to enjoy themselves and enjoy the evening but if you behave like a boofhead you will be treated like a boofhead and you will be arrested," said Coffs/Clarence crime manager Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay.

"We have a lot of extra police out and about and extra resources from neighbouring areas. We will also have additional highway patrol officers out in force conducting random breath testing.

"We would encourage people to use the Nightrider buses put on by the council or to have a designated driver who doesn't drink at all. …
