AN INCREASING number of young Ipswich women are refusing to wait for a diamond ring and are instead making their own white-picket-fence dreams come true.

Jen Haylock, 31, recently bought a two-bedroom home at Bundamba with a spacious backyard for her two dogs, Arthur and George.

Miss Haylock said she had always dreamed of buying her own home.

The new home owner said the Bundamba duplex was the perfect match.

C[pounds sterling]This house was ideally located to the main road, to buses and trains. It ticked all the boxes.

C[pounds sterling]It was just two bedrooms, so it was small enough for me but it still felt spacious inside. It was the right price; it was just perfect.C[yen]

Miss Haylock said she felt her money was better spent on buying her own place rather than renting.
