New-Look Radio Station Ready to Hit Airwaves

THE old building might need a coat of paint, but 2TLC-FM will soon be pumping with life once again.

The Yamba-based community radio station closed its doors in early 2010 following administrative and management problems.

Now, it's getting ready to hit local airwaves again and the community is being asked to get involved.

2TLC-FM chairman Peter Finucan said the station had a proud history stretching back 20years.

aIn that time, it's had a lot of presenters from the Lower Clarence a certainly not just Yamba a and the charter for community radio is really to enable people in the community to be part of broadcasting,a he said.

aIt's all about having a variety of people, whether they like jazz or have an ethnic preference ... to try and have a radio station that reflects where we live.a

Mr Finucan, who had been involved in 2TLC-FM until about two years ago, returned from travelling in May. …
