FLOOD-hit Darling Downs race clubs can expect assistance from Racing Queensland Limited (RQL) to help restore damaged infrastructure once an impact assessment has been completed.

RQL chairman Bob Bentley and Director of Product Development Paul Brennan will inspect water-damaged clubs when floodwaters subside.

Clubs facing hefty repair bills in the Downs racing region include Warwick and Chinchilla.

Warwick's Allman Park suffered substantial damage to its course-proper running rail during a Christmas deluge.

Its sand training track has also been left in poor condition.

The course proper has not been badly affected.

Allman Park has about 50 horses in work and is due to host the five-race Killarney Cup program on February 5.

Bentley says Racing Queensland is committed to working with flood-affected clubs to ensure remediation of racing and training infrastructure as soon as practical. …
