Scott Set to Shun Open at the Lakes

ADAM SCOTT appears set to miss a star-stacked 2011 Australian Open golf championship, saying he does not think it should return to The Lakes course.

The national championship is expected to attract among the strongest fields in its history after being handed the November 10-13 dates the week before America's best do battle with the International team in the Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne.

While the Open venue in Sydney has yet to be announced, it is understood it is almost certain to return to The Lakes, where Geoff Ogilvy triumphed last month. Scott (pictured) indicated that would make his decision easier, pushing him toward the always likely option of defending his Singapore Open title that week instead.
