IT USED to be that all you needed was the perfect pair of shoes to complete an outfit. But driving around town in a brand new Citroen DS3 (yes, don't laugh. A Citroen), it occurs to me that I am cocooned by the latest mustwear fashion accessory.

I am not just driving around in any Citroen. This one has been specially tailored by London-based fashion, accessories and homeware designer Orla Kiely.

Each headrest is made with a different coloured leather (the driver's is pony skin) complete with Kiely's stem pattern. The boot, glove compartment and floor mats also wear that signature and the exterior is covered in an olive green acorn print that precisely matches her bags and macs for this season.

To complete your outfits, ladies, now you need the car too.

This one is certainly a statement. A few pedestrians even smile (or smirk) as they see me driving by. But it's quite pretty and I'm taken by the finishing touches, such as the little orange map light (makeup light?) on the passenger side.

"I hadn't ever considered designing a car and have always thought that a lot of cars were designed for the male market," says Kiely. "I think [this car] is aimed at women; a cute, more colourful version of a great car." One of the limited 500 cars that will go on sale (with prints on the roof, but not the whole exterior) can be yours for approximately [pounds sterling]15,900.

Fashion and four wheels are coming together. For Mini's most recent Life Ball in Vienna, an annual fundraiser by BMW (which manufactures the Mini) for the Foundation for Aids Research, Diane von Furstenberg, Kenneth Cole and Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa styled a Mini. Von Furstenberg emblazoned her lips motif across one, while Cole and Costa for Klein went for a twist on a sleek black. Just one of each was auctioned off.

Meanwhile Fiat was busy hooking up with jeans brand Diesel to create the Fiat 500byDiesel and a convertible, the Fiat 500CbyDiesel. …
