MICHAEL Rodden admitted doing 160kmh on a back road at Farleigh with two passengers in the front of his utility and with neither passenger wearing seatbelts.

Rodden was driving along Farleigh-Habana Road about 7.40pm on December 21 when his car left the road and went sideways into a paddock.

Northern Beaches police attended the single vehicle accident and noticed that Rodden's car was well off the road, police prosecutor Bimal Raut said.

There were skid marks in the grass leading up to where his vehicle was facing sideways.

There was a male and female passenger in the vehicle.

Rodden told police he was the driver and was going around a bend in the road at about 160kmh in a 100kmh zone.

C[pounds sterling]When he realised he was going at 160kmh he applied the brakes and the rear of the vehicle swung out and it slid sideways,C[yen] Mr Raut said.
