FOUR companies have expressed interest in the naming rights for Mackay's stadium, which is due to be completed early next year.

The committee overseeing construction of the $10.5million project engaged Brand Ambassadors director Terry Johnston, who recently hung up his boots as general manager of the North Queensland Cowboys, to help it seal a deal.

And the search is going well so far, with several potential candidates expressing serious interest in the naming rights, Mr Johnston says.

Mr Johnston, who secured the naming rights for Townsville's Dairy Farmers Stadium and remains a consultant for the Cowboys, said Mackay's 12,000-seat stadium provided a great sponsorship opportunity. …
