DURHAM CITY stage their second home game of the week tonight as they look to reach the fourth round of the Evo-Stik League Cup with victory over Sheffield FC. City warmed up for the tie with a thumping 6-2 league win over Woodley Sports on Saturday, but will make several enforced changes tonight.

Striker Stephen Thompson and midfield playmaker Andrew Stephenson are unavailable, while Josh Home-Jackson was taken off early in the game against Woodley.

Rufus Ayre is also likely to be missing, and youngster Elliott Cutts is doubtful with a thigh strain picked up on Saturday. The tie was meant to be played at Sheffield, but league rules state that a club forfeits home advantage if it is unable to stage the game on three occasions.

Due to the weather, Sheffield's BT Local Business stadium pitch has been unfit three times so Durham now have the advantage of playing at home on their artificial surface.
