MARSKE travelled to Billingham for their first league game since November and found themselves up against strong opposition.

With a slight wind advantage, Marske dominated the early stages but Rangers, using the long ball very effectively, created a couple of half-chances before an excellent delivery by Morgan Corner was fired strongly home by Curtis Wood.

The game ebbed and flowed, with two totally different styles, and it was Rangers who scored the next goal out of nothing.

A long ball was chased by the Billingham forward, who finished very well.

Both teams continued probing but it was Marske who took a deserved lead at half-time. Another free-kick awarded to Marske led to an excellent execution by Corner, who fired an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.

Half-time: Billingham 1 Marske 2 Marske started the second half by changing formation and personnel but, before the new set-up had time to settle, a very harshly-awarded free-kick was delivered fast into the box and deflected into the net for 2-2. …
