DORRIGO RSL and Community Club has some good news a it is one of the happy beneficiaries of the NSW Government's Climate Change Fund.

Out of a pot of $3.6 million for 164 projects statewide, Dorrigo will receive $17,458 to undertake a water and energy efficiency upgrade, thereby saving one million litres of water, 116 megawatt hours of electricity and 124 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions in the first 10 years.

The club's secretary/manager Richard Shadforth said he was thrilled with the announcement.

aThis money will be used to install a solar hot water system, dual-flush toilets and skylights to brighten up the club,a Mr Shadforth said.

aThe Climate Change Fund is a great government initiative and it's good to be able to take advantage of it.a

He said he regularly looked for grants and this one was perfect for what the club wanted to do.
