THE acontroversiala tag for an artist is like a money tree, which is why I am loathe to describe Bill Henson as such.

But there is no denying Henson's photography gets tongues wagging a the mere mention of his name in the newsroom on Monday sparked intense debate which was revisited by several parties over the following 24 hours. I certainly do not consider Henson's most famous work child porn by any means, but I do find it confronting.

Images of semi-naked children with sad, lost or aggrieved looks on their faces a they are what I envisage a kidnap victim might look like.

Certainly not child porn a any police officer will gravely tell you that a but the images are certainly disturbing and I worry for the people who are already adisturbeda; will this be a tipping point?

I am generally against censorship but I do find Henson's art a little bit atabloida among a culture of great art. …
