Donations Sweep in for Region; Delivery of 1500 Mops and Brooms Arrives for Flood-Affected Residents

FROM Capalaba with love, a truckload of 1500 donated brooms and mops has arrived in Ipswich.

The special delivery arrived at the newly re-opened Salvation Army depot at Bundamba on Tuesday.

The donation was co-ordinated by Golden Circle Factory Sales owner Mick Corboy and Member for Capalaba Michael Choi.

Mr Corboy said the brooms and mops had been donated by a Victorian supplier and were worth about $10 each.

Member for Capalaba Michael Choi said given the area had been spared during the floods, people wanted to do what they could to help those who were not so lucky.

He said at least 30 truckloads of donations had poured into the Ipswich region over the past week, with the brooms and mops the latest in a long line of items donated to flood victims. …
