THEY have experienced a great Aussie barbecue and on Australia Day they became Australian citizens, now South African couple Esme and John De Lange call Australia home.

C[pounds sterling]It is not hard to be in love with such a wonderful country as Australia,C[yen] said Esme, who believes being an Australian is more than just an address.

C[pounds sterling]Becoming a citizen is more than to say, I have moved to Australia, it is becoming part of Australia,C[yen] she said.

The CQUniversity employees moved to Australia in 2008 in search of a quiet, relaxing region to settle and enjoy life.

C[pounds sterling]We are not city lovers so John applied for positions that were rural (or regionally) based and accepted a contractual procurement position in beautiful Tasmania.

C[pounds sterling]However, as most South Africans would testify, we are not used to Tasmania's cold weather.C[yen]

After four months working in Tasmania, CQUniversity Rockhampton offered John a procurement officer position in its supply department and he began his new job in December 2008. …
