Two members of the Jaguars 2010 coaching staff departed the franchise Friday.

The Carolina Panthers hired Mike Shula, 45, as their quarterbacks coach. Shula was quarterbacks coach for the past four seasons for the Jaguars.

"Mike possesses a great knowledge of the quarterback position, having both played there as well as coached it," said new Panthers head coach Ron Rivera. "He has worked with a wide variety of quarterbacks during his career and will be a strong addition to our staff."

Monken worked directly with quarterbacks in the late 1990s at Eastern Michigan. He coached there for seven seasons until 1999 and served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the end of his time there.
