School Starts with a Buzz; Students Ready for New Experiences, Challenges

AS school began for the year on Monday morning, St Joseph's was alive with children finding their classrooms, parents saying their goodbyes and teachers welcoming the children entrusted to their care for 2011.

There was a real sense of excitement and expectancy as a new school year began.

The school, aware of families who have been affected by the recent floods, plans as a school community to raise funds to support those families during this time of need.

Some of the school's successful events and activities from previous years will continue into this year which will include:

The junior and senior choirs again entering this year's eisteddfod.

Instrumental music program.

Robotics challenges which allow students to be problem solvers and enter the Optiminds challenge.

School chess club is again offered as interested students will continue to meet weekly at school.

The 2010 Artist in Residence was a very successful program that will be provided again this year. …
