RODEO: For five-year-old Klay Mendham it is the start of a journey while this Young Gun rodeo series provides a little unfinished business for Bray Perrett.

It is a long trail for young cowboys and it all begins at the Great Western's Nissan Navara tomorrow night when the development program for Central Queensland cowboys, The Paul Archer The Good Guys Young Guns series, has the opening round for 2011.

Perrett had a great series last year winning the buckle in the Junior Bull Ride but this time around he has his eyes firmly set on the main prize in the Rookie division.

Young Klay is one of a number of students from the Port Curtis School who participates in the Poddy Ride at the rodeo.

Mum Casey said despite bull riding being a rough-and-tumble sport she is not too concerned about her young son.

C[pounds sterling]He has been around the rodeo since he was born,C[yen] she said.

C[pounds sterling]I only get concerned when he does get hurt.C[yen]

However, Casey can see the value of the Paul Archer The Good Guys Young Guns series. …
