This lack of straight talking is collectively costing the UK's small businesses almost three million working hours a week, or more than pounds 36m in wasted, meaningless conversations.* T-Mobile recently surveyed Newcastle small business owners about their attitude to lengthy business conversations and found that over a third of Geordies (37%) believe the North East to be most straight talking.

And when it comes to getting to the point, small business owners in Newcastle are less patient than most, with 78% switching off if they feel someone is not getting to the point within five minutes or less, compared to 74% nationally.
