WEST HAM FANS Mark Marley, 27, teacher from Dagenham: "It makes sense for West Ham to move there because they are going to have a much nicer stadium. West Ham can't rebuild around here either, even if they wanted to." Ike Umenyiora, 39, a master planner from Upton Park: "West Ham deserve to get it because they are local, it is a bit out of the way for Tottenham. They say that football and athletics don't mix because the fans are too far away from the pitch so I think eventually they will knock the Olympic stadium down." Ross Yeowell, 22, a chef from Upton Park: "It is good that West Ham are going to get it because it is better for them, but for businesses here it will probably be bad."

Cecilia Welsh, 48, a nurse from Upton Park: "I'm very worried about what they are going to do about maintaining this area. What is going to happen to local businesses?" SPURS FANS Kenneth Pitcher, 64, retired, from Dagenham: "I am glad West Ham will get it because Spurs fans want to stay around this area in north London. This is our spiritual home, it's about the pitch. I think Daniel Levy's underestimated the Spurs fans, he is so out of touch."

Alex Krasnic, 35, an acoustics engineer from Harrow: "Stratford has got the best transport links in the area, it is close to the City and the stadium itself is good. But there are historical reasons for Spurs to stay here.

"It is probably better for West Ham to be there because if Tottenham move there, there would be three clubs -- West Ham, Tottenham and Leyton Orient -- in each other's backyards. It would also have created an economic vacuum here."

Anthony Pantelides, 31, a banker from Chingford, Essex: "I feel a bit let down because you do always want to beat West Ham. I want to stay here but we do need a bigger stadium. West Ham are going to look stupid because they won't be able to fill it. …
