Fire and Flood a Double Blow for Bundy Boy; Family Faces Task of Rebuilding Lives

FORMER Bundaberg boy Cliff Williams has suffered a devastating double blow in the past few weeks, as floods then a fire drove him out of two homes just weeks apart.

In the middle of January, Mr Williams, fiance Tiffany Parfrement and her seven-year-old son Zy were driven out of their home in the Brisbane suburb of Graceville, where they had lived for a year, when floodwaters tore through it.

C[pounds sterling]We thought we were really lucky when we found a new place in Forest Lake only three weeks later,C[yen] Mr Williams said.

C[pounds sterling]But then on the 13th day we were there, we went out to do some shopping and I got a call to say the house was on fire.C[yen]

Mr Williams, who went to Bargara State School and later Kepnock High School, said boxes of the few possessions they had managed to rescue from the floods had now gone up in smoke.

He said the fire was apparently caused by an electrical fault in an air-conditioner at the house. …
