LEE Collings has demanded a positive reaction from his Durham City side as they entertain Lancaster City tonight.

The Esh Group Stadium outfit wasted a host of chances at Warrington Town on Saturday, and face another side chasing a spot in the Evo-Stik North play-offs.

Joint-manager Collings was hoping to tie up the signing of former fans' favourite Tommy English last night.

But having been told he can leave Northern League champions Spennymoor Town, English is also being courted by several clubs within that league, including Bedlington Terriers and Sunderland RCA. Collings would love to land the left winger, but he is also fully focused on bringing the best out of his young City stars.

"We had a bad result on Saturday but there was a lot in the performance to be pleased with," said Collings, who expects to have a full squad of 19 to select from.

"We created a load of chances and if we can just start taking them again, like we were a little earlier in the season, and cut out the stupid defensive mistakes, we'll be all right. …
