IF you wish to have your say regarding divisions in local council you can now obtain a questionnaire at the Rainbow Beach Library.

Fill out the questionnaire, indicating your choices, and return by the date given on the questionnaire.

This is a good way to indicate your preference and to have your say.

Worth a look

HAVE decided that the best way to get the tourists back to Rainbow Beach would be to send someone you know a picture of it via e-mail or snail mail and ask them to distribute it to their friends.

Sometimes a picture can encourage people to put a place on their travel to-do list next time they take a break.

There are a couple of photos here just to whet the appetites.

Sixties and Over

RAINBOW Beach's Sixties and Over Group have ten pin bowling and lunch in Gympie on their to-do list.

This day is being held on March 9, with a longer trip to the Bunya Mountains and Maidenwell planned over five days in April. This is the big trip for 2011.

Grants

RAINBOW Beach Community Information and Resource Centre tells us that their secretary, towards the end of 2010 spent many hours completing applications for grants for the centre and thus for the community.

To date they have been successful with one, a Volunteer Grant, which will be used for a workshop for community groups re Effective Communication and Our Duties as a Volunteer.

Another successful application has yielded a Senior's Week Celebration Grant where the centre will hold active and passive activities at a surprise location in August.

The centre is anxiously waiting for a reply on another grant for Sun Shade and Sun Cream for Community use.

Unfortunately, the skate competition that had been planned by the Centre for Rainbow Beach was cancelled, due to the Youth and Development Officer being required elsewhere with the flood cleanup. …
