As summer officially ends next week, I suppose we cannot complain too much about the heat this year, but last Saturday and Sunday were pretty ordinary, just to remind us we have actually had a fairly cool summer compared to how hot our summers are normally.

We've also had minimal storms, so we have had minimum damage to our gardens and trees from any wind and hail.

With our weather being so hot and humid, fungus disease can be a real problem.

Powdery mildew and black spot on your roses, leaf spot and target spot on tomatoes, downy mildew on grapes, brown spot and rust on your beans Co all these and more can be troublesome unless preventative action is taken in the form of broad spectrum fungicides, such as Mancozeb plus for your vegies or for your roses a good rose spray.

Also, if your lemon tree is infected with citrus gall wasp, cut off the affected twigs or branches and burn or dispose of them completely. …
