CRUEL! Mowbray Rues Last Minute Forest Goal: Mogga: It's So Cruel

TONY Mowbray today summed up another agonising Boro finale by insisting: "That one was very cruel."

Boro battered promotion chasing Nottingham Forest at the Riverside Stadium last night but once again conceded an almost unbelievable injury time equaliser.

Dele Adebola's 92nd minute leveller, which cancelled out Scott McDonald's opener, was extremely harsh.

Even Forest boss Billy Davies revealed: "I apologised to Tony Mowbray on the touchline because we didn't deserve it."

But in the cold light of day it's one point, not three, from the one-sided game and Boro are still looking over their shoulders.

OPENING Scott Mowbray said: "We have had one or two goals against us like that this season, but we deserved to win the match.

"There was only one goalkeeper working last night.

"Maybe Forest are near the top of the table because of their ability to score late goals.

"Credit to them for doing it, but it was cruel on us.

"We got a performance full of energy and there was a desire to get a result after what happened against QPR at the weekend.

"But, as I say, it's not the first time we've been in the lead and lost late goals.

"Maybe the effect of David Wheater not being here and Matthew Bates injured is being felt.

"We've got two young boys at the centre of our defence and for 90 minutes they did a great job for us.

"But then better teams than us have conceded last minute goals when teams are gambling by throwing everybody forward."

Mowbray wasted no time in convincing his players they should hold their heads high, despite the frustrations they felt from conceding the equaliser.

He said: "I hope the players are feeling a little bit better about themselves after what I have said to them.

"We have just played one of the best teams in this league and outplayed them in the second half. …
