WHITLEY BAY must get past Wessex League outfit Poole Town if they are to make it three successive visits to Wembley in the FA Vase final.

Bay manager Ian Chandler and his players will be confident of making it to final showpiece in April after getting past Northern League rivals Dunston in the last eight on Saturday. Chandler's side will take on Poole in Dorset on March 26 before a second-leg encounter at the start of April at Hillheads.

The former Barnsley striker and Seahorses legend told the Chronicle: "We really fancy it. But we won't take anything or any team for granted in this competition.

"We know they have knocked out Spennymoor and I have already spoken to my old Whitley Bay team-mate Perry Briggs, who has gave me a steer on Poole.

"Of course we'll be sending our super scout Gavin Fell down there to check them out as well. …
