CLARENCE River Jockey Club (CRJC) chairman Graeme Green has called for nominations for this year's Kensei Club.

About 10 businesses have thrown their hat into the ring to win naming rights for the 2011 Grafton Cup, run during the July Racing Carnival.

Each nominee pays $3000 and will have their name drawn out at the CRJC Gala Dinner on April 16.

Elders Real Estate was the lucky winner last year, but all of the nominees won prizes such as naming rights to July's other races.

aEveryone who is in the Kensei Club is a chance to win the number one prize,a Green said.

aWe have got about 10 or 11 (nominees) and we would like about half-a-dozen more.

aIt's a good way of advertising and it's looking pretty positive at the moment. …
